Puerto Peñasco's Premier Source for 100% Cotton Apparel from Guadalajara

Fabiola Hernandez was born in Guaymas, Sonora, and came to Puerto Peñasco with her husband, John Hibbert, over 15 years ago, to own and operate "La Tienda Princesa", the first convenience store on Sandy Beach, located within the Princesa de Peñasco condominium complex. Since selling that business a number of years ago, they wanted to create another unique business, but finding the right place, at the right time, with the right products, just hadn't happened.

But then their friends, Joe & Barbara Iverson, opened Su Casa, along the strip of shops, known by locals as "The Cholla Mall", "Shacks Fifth Avenue", "Rodeo Drive", or "The Dirt Mall". Things had changed ... there was now a paved road, with sidewalks, and upscale merchandise starting to blend in with the traditional "Curios".

Looking at a dirt lot in between Su Casa and another nice store, Kokopeli, the vision began. Together, they've traveled many parts of Mexico, and particularly enjoyed visiting the style of shops found in Tlaquepaque, Puerto Vallarta, and other resort areas. But one of the biggest influences came while visiting their friend Paul DeSmit, who owns "Plum Loco", a popular clothing and gift shop in Los Barriles, Baja Sur.

How great it would be to have something similar in Puerto Peñasco! The plan took shape in the Summer of 2014, as they secured a lease and started work on that Rodeo Drive dirt lot. With Fabi and her sister, Yurema, ready to receive customers, Plaza Fabiola finally opened it's doors on October 1st, 2014.

Since then, John and Fabi have made numerous trips South, in search of quality merchandise, that is different from what's available at other stores in the area. The result is a fun shopping experience, in a truly unique Southern Mexico style courtyard atmosphere.
